Ijinkan on the hill
2-chōme-18-2 Kitanochō, Chuo Ward, Kobe, Hyogo 650-0002, Japan
The Former Chinese Consulate was built in the late Meiji Period. Although generally Western, the architecture of the building has some distinctly Chinese elements, and the inside is furnished with Chinese-style furniture and household items. On display are various art pieces, some of which date back several centuries.

They said that this Hilltop house used to be the home for the Chinese consulate in Kobe. In my opinion, this building looks like a western building from the outside, but when you try to enter it, the atmosphere were suddenly changes to be oriental style. The relics, furniture, and even the lamps were looks like it was brought from China. I enter this place for free, using the happy memory pass.

Very nice to walk between these big houses. You can have an amazing view of the city at the top of the hill. The price for visiting the houses is quite expensive.

We continued to climb uphill a long way to Hilltop House, which Chinese officials used to live. The houses size and height uphills were more like those in Hokkaido, but stylish, meantime more ugly one. It's really at the hilltop; we tried hard. There were many Chinese antique furniture, exhibits and sculptures.

I don't think it is the real decoration of original building. Local government set up this theme house maybe wanna cater to the Chinese tourists. I couldn't see any special of this house. Don't waste time and money. I would like to see more Japanese content rather than this fake touristy building.
