Located in the and near the Old Traditional Shopping old area called Naramachi this is a wonderful place to see all sort of arts, crafts, calligraphy and many old traditional houses. After seeing so many Nara Temples this was a very welcome change.

A convenient marketplace for souvenir and food shopping awaits you between Nara Station and Nara Park, making it easily accessible during your stroll in the area. When i visited here Dec 30 2023, most of the shops are closed, part of the long holudays in Japan from Dec 29 to Jan 3.

A convenient shopping district just beside the kintentsu Nara line. You'll find plenty of nice restaurant with Various menu. Feel free to try out and most of them will require queuing at peak hours. Tax free shop available too at the area.

Came here primarily for the mochi pounding store. It's a nice street with lots of stores branching around this area. Nice spot to grab a lunch or dinner and head back to the park.
