Even though I visited late (after 5pm), the staff were very kind. I was also given a ride in the elevator, and I was astonished by the explanation of how difficult it was to use the elevator. We hope that the elevator will continue to operate for a long time.

The building used to be Marui Imai Department Store? Apparently, inside the building is the oldest manual elevator in the Tohoku region, which was installed after the Great Hakodate Fire in 1933, and you can ride it after a staff member explains how to operate it.

This is a retro communication center located in Jujigai, Hakodate City. It is said that it was originally Marui Imai Department Store. Inside is the rare and oldest manual elevator north of Tohoku. I wanted to ride it and see it. There is also a coffee shop called Drip Drop.

It's a rather difficult name to call "the oldest elevator north of Tohoku," but it's well worth the ride. When you apply at the reception desk, the staff will guide you very carefully. By the way, he said, ``Take the stairs on your way home!'' You can get a manhole card (^^*)

A building I casually entered They said they had the oldest elevator and they would run it, so I asked the staff. I thought I would turn it by hand, but it wasn't what I imagined, but it was a valuable experience. Honestly, I'd enjoy it more if the staff members who move them are bad (lol) We were too good at it 😳 By the way, please note that you will have to come down the stairs from the 5th floor to return home. The inside of the hotel was also a nice classic design.
