The best place to see fall foliage in Hakodate. The park is not large but packed with vibrant colors during autumn. Red and yellow maple leaves hung over on tree branches and fallen ones blanketed ground like a colorful carpet. There is also a small hut featuring traditional Japanese garden with mini pond and stepping stone covering with moss. The colorful trees are lit up at night, illuminating red and yellow leaves on dark night sky gave viewers a different and chilling experience. Make sure to try one when you are in town during late October to early November.

They have a momiji festival this year (end of October, beginning of November) I went and the view was awesome. Then started rain. Beautiful park to go on a sunny day.

Beautiful park highly recommended for autumn foliage in late October. There are also light-up events during late October in the evenings. The park is fairly easy to travel to, just take bus 82 from the bus terminal in front of Hakodate station and get off at the 香雪園(kosetsuen) bus stop. Journey is about 40mins. As buses have limited timings and come only once an hour, strongly recommend to check the bus schedule with the Tourist Service Counter inside Hakodate Station. The park is not very big and you can finish exploring on foot within 30-45mins, but recommended to spend a bit more time to enjoy the park slowly. There is a Tourist centre, vending machines and public restrooms around as well.

A place must be visiting during autumn in Hokkaido during autumn. The garden is chill and cover with tons of trees. You would easily spend a hour or more by going around the whole area and take some great photos

Came here at the end of February, nice stroll in the parkbut I recommend going in the summer or autumn. Got here by foot, just get of at the end of the tramstation and follow the Yuno (right) river upwards
