The Gokurakuji Temple is a Koya-san Shingon Buddhist temple located in the Oasa-cho Hinoki district of Naruto City; legend has it that the Gokurakuji Temple was founded by the bodhisattva Gyoki during the Konin era (810–824). The temple’s formal name is Nissho-san Muryoju-in. The Gokurakuji Temple is the second temple visited on the Shikoku 88-temple Pilgrimage.

Second temple of the 88-temple pilgrimage on Shikoku Island. It has an small interesting garden.

It's a nice shrine, there are a few steps to reach the top and it feels like it's really in the middle of the forest. Very peaceful.

Nice little temple 🙂 Nothing so special about all these temples but the pilgrimage walk could be nice. Walking the 3 first temples was good idea (took me 2-3h), specially if you enjoy being away from the big japanese cities and seing some country side and random casual life of Japan. The garden of this temple is particularly relaxing
