A sweet view of Mt. Fuji, and the starting point to the hike up there. This beautiful shinto shrine also has walking gardens, ponds and those old style Japanese bridges. The place is so calm and peaceful and the air so fresh. There is also a small forest you can wander through. Just a 10 minute walk from Fujinomiya train station. If not trekking up the mountain, you can combine here with the Fuji World Heritage Centre, which is close

Idyllic shrine situated at the foot of Mt. Fuji. It is a preferred starting of many climbers. In front of the tower gate is “Kagami ike” or mirror pond and if you pass through the small gate on the eastern side, you will come to the “Wakutama-ike” or the gushing jewels pond. A part of the precinct is the Okumiya or the shrine on top of Mt. Fuji, which stands at the end of the trail starting from Fujinomiya.
