Echizen Oshozu
3-8 Izumichō, Ono, Fukui 912-0086, Japan
Izumi no Oshozu has been spouting water and supporting life for over 600 years. It was discovered by farmers during the Sengoku period. Its water was so prized by locals that there were some who would only drink water from there. You may see some elderly folks carrying tea kettles and pumping up water even now.

You can't go wrong with this set that includes Ohno's specialties! Maitake mushroom tempura was delicious The soy sauce cutlet bowl is relatively light! Both soba and taro were delicious. Isn't it a bit unsatisfactory with alcohol? ! There were many other menu items.

Izumi-cho, Ono City, Fukui Prefecture ¥550 11:00-14:00 Wednesday (closed) 2023/10/24 A detached soba restaurant located behind the famous water Oshimizu in Ono City. The water served is also delicious. The mini-don set, which comes with a choice of soy sauce cutlet bowl or sauce cutlet bowl, is also a good deal, but only the grated soba is available. The inside of the restaurant, which has two tables, a tatami room, and three seats at the counter, is a modern and clean Japanese-style soba restaurant and has an unpretentious feel, but I was able to get a bottle of famous water while I waited for my turn. Thick, hard-boiled noodles with a strong soba aroma. Bonito flakes and green onions are placed in a small plate. Here, too, the spicy radish soup is eaten separately, so it's not very spicy. Comes with a little chili pepper. When I order Soba-yu, I drink Soba-yu made with famous water that comes out in a teacup. I enjoyed the soba noodles, which were light and smooth, with the aroma of soba, firm handmade noodles, and delicious water.

I visited at noon. Since it was a weekday, there was no line up. I had a set of seasonal soy sauce cutlet bowl and grated soba noodles. The soba noodles were chewy and delicious, but I would have preferred the grated noodles to be spicier. The katsudon was a soy sauce katsudon with tomatoes on top and was quite good. I think it would have been better if the cutlet was a little thicker. It's right near Mishimizu, so even the cold drinks were delicious.

Ono's best soba/izakaya restaurant! They have a wide variety of dishes. Soba, chicken dishes, mini pizza, beef, pork, salads. And it's right around the corner from the Oshozu freshwater spring!
