Loved the day out here. In winter it seemed closed (despite the website saying it opens at 10:30), but you can still visit and walk up the hill to see dinosaurs and use the park. A few Japanese families seem to do the same, so it doesn't seem to be breaking any rules? Amazing views of Nagano and surrounding mountains. My 5yo loved it, highly recommended to let the kids stretch their legs and see some life-size dinosaurs, ride some slides and get some fresh air. In hindsight, I wish I made more time to see the adjacent botanical gardens and zoo. FYI no toilets when the ticket office is closed, nearest is probably the Lawson 10min drive away, or maybe the zoo if its ticket office is open.

A wonderful place for a picnic and a beautiful view of Nagano below. We were a little too early in spring, the cherry blossom was just starting to bloom. The park is free and has many dinosaurs for the kids to explore and climb onto or into. Some of them double as slides or for climbing. There are some great slides which were very popular with all the kids in the park. So many smiling faces running up and down the hill. They will all sleep early tonight. Bring your lunch box with you and a blanket. Find some shade and enjoy the peace and quiet. Don't sit near the slides, too many happy kids. Lots of parking and clean toilets at the top of the hill. You will find plenty ty of green grass and shade to have your picnic before walking down to the play area.

It is a fun and free park. I went with my 2 sons off 2 and 3 years old. We have spend 2 hours in the park. There is a small shop where you can buy overpriced souvenirs.

This park was amazing. I especially loved the folk tales themed big toys. Of course, the dinosaurs were a plus. :)
