It's so easily to visit, recommend buy the ticket round (go-back). the ropeway have time schedule every 20 min and you can check and update the temperature or the weather in website of beppu ropeway.

Be prepared for the cold! Beautiful view. Ideally you should give yourself an hour or more to walk around the place but bus services are irregular so you have to time your visit to the bus schedule unless you have a car. But worth a visit as it’s only 20min from Beppu itself .

It’s either this or hike up the mountain which I wasn’t gonna do since I hiked Mount Yufu the day before. Purchasing the tickets is quite straightforward, and a round trip costs 1800 yen. The ropeway runs in intervals of 20 minutes and in that time, the crowd can stack up. Our rides up and down were very packed. If you’re able to get in first, try to pick the either ends that faces either the mountain or the city. Those will give the best view. Also, the highlight of the station is its cat! Which I believe is also its mascot. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to spot it and pat it. Very friendly and cute!

Came over for the sightseeing and view over the entire Beppu Bay. Firstly, visit this place when the weather is good. Otherwise, you may end up missing lots of sight. Also, make sure you have your wind breaker and hood as the winds are strong and temperatures are low. Good for photos and nature lovers. Place is not very big and at most one to two hours can finish touring the top. Overall, it was a great experience and giving it a good 4 star rating.

When reached the top, just too foggy cannot see anything below the mountain. But, if can try to go to the peak of the mountain and along the way, you can try to search for the 7 gods that are spread around the mountain. Feels like treasure hunt. Hunting for the 7 gods. 😊 I managed to find all. What about you? If you use the one day pass you will get a discount of 100yen. But just to make sure, when you purchase your day pass get the discount coupon from the tourist information center. ( I got it from Beppu tourist information center). So that you definitely get your discount.
