Family friendly, reasonably priced amusement park located in Beppu. It had a really nice view of the Bay of Beppu and surrounds. For the basic entry fee of ¥1300 for Adults, which includes a free cable car ride to and from the park and a free entry to the scenic hot spring bath. (You can do other rides like rollercoasters etc at extra cost) Facilities and rides were a bit outdated but somehow adds the nice retro feel to the place. I recommend this place, it's like visiting a scenic lookout with extra perks.

This place has long history as Japanese classical amusement park and adults can feel nostalgic atmosphere of few decades ago in Japan while kids enjoy classical attractions in the park. If you are interested in such kind of Japanese atmosphere, worth to visit, but probably hard to have fun with only adults. The park is suitable for kids (about 8-9 years old or younger) or families accompanying kids. I think kids 9 -10 years old or more tend to like other amusement parks designated for adults. We took two kids under 3 years old and they could have fun with attractions, pool, seeing animals, and barbeque. Another good aspect is that since the park is not too large, it is not too hard for parents to walk around with small kids compared with large scale amusement parks. There were many families with kids but not very crowded. We had to wait for buying entrance tickets and taking cable car to enter the park for about 15 minutes but it did not big deal. When we visit to the park, Kakigori (Shaved ice) quick-eating contest was held and we participated. We had fun time thanks to this interesting event by well performed staffs. Spending time in Rakutenchi was absolutely wonderful summer memory for us. I would love to visit again for other seasons if we had a chance while our kids are small.

Great place to enjoy with family. Went their during cherry blossom “Sakura” season, with a wonderful views. It is an amusement park with a lot of wonderful activities for kids. There are different type go merry-go-rounds located in the top of the mountain hill, which provides extra enjoyment while riding them.

I went with the family during Hanami and they boast to have over 3000 Sakura trees. It was really beautiful because we had a really great day of Sun and warm weather. A cable car takes you up to the site which was fun. The rides were okay but great for little kids. Getting a ride pass might be worth it if you plan to go on a lot of rides.

It's nice to bring your kids here. Old style theme park, but interesting in many ways. I think it was the first theme park in Japan. Something like 80 years of history.
