萬代橋

A signature bridge in Niigata city. It doesn’t look particularly spectacular but you can recognise that it is a historical, old style bridge. I visited a history museum before I saw this bridge, so that might have made me appreciate this bridge more. Otherwise, this might just appear to be a simple old bridge. The scenery I saw from the bridge was beautiful anyway.

Nice place for fresh breathing! Calm and tranquil!

Nostalgic place especially in evening. Walking around bridge and banks of river is really enjoyable.

I understand this bridge is an important symbol in Niigata but there's nothing particularly interesting or impressive about it.  If I had not read that it's considered a "site" I would not have thought twice about it.  If you visit Niigata and go around the city you will inevitably pass by or over it, but I wouldn't go out of your way to visit it.
