Created in 1922 for Mr. Yukijiro Shibasaki, the 10th Mayor of Niigata. A completed Japanese-Western style house. Currently, items left behind by author Ango Sakaguchi are on display for free. If you are a fan of Ango Sakaguchi, this is definitely a place you should visit.

``Free admission'' ``The birthplace of Ango Sakaguchi'' ``The city's oldest existing mayor's office'' ``Buildings from the Taisho era'' The city received donations of belongings from the Sakaguchi family and operates the official building, which resembles a merchant's house, as a museum. Ango Sakaguchi's valuable belongings such as handwritten manuscripts and photographs are on display. It is said that he lived a life of hardship, including the downfall of his family, mental illness caused by trauma, and drug abuse. Ango's name is said to be a pen name taken from a harassing remark made by an unruly teacher. Although he is considered to be a representative of anti-establishment and unreliable people, during his short time as a teacher, Ango was able to respond appropriately to the concerns of his students, and when he had a child, he became a handsome man, which is different from the general impression. It seems there was. Apparently their birthplace was in the same town. A monument stands at the shrine. [Free parking] Sufficient space #letsguide #Bungo #Pilgrimage to sacred places

If you like Ango Sakaguchi, please come visit. There are exhibits such as Ango's works. It was OK to take photos in some areas, such as the garden. Exhibits are not allowed. The building itself seems to have nothing to do with Ango Sakaguchi. Although it feels quite minor as a tourist attraction, I think it will be interesting if you like literature.

I went to Ango Kaze no Yakata, the former Niigata Mayor's official residence. I'm glad that admission is free♪ This public building was completed in 1922 to welcome the 10th mayor of Niigata. The garden built in 1992 is also beautiful♪ A part of the public building was a museum dedicated to Ango Sakaguchi, who was born in Niigata City in 1902 and became a popular writer and was considered a scoundrel. After that, his works became the subject of movies, and there were also exhibits about ``Mr. Kanzo'' and ``The Idiot.'' Recommended!
