Parking at Parking Lot A requires payment. Remember to request complimentary parking validation from the ticket inspector. The cable car fee is a bit expensive, but the small and convenient cable car arrives in about ten minutes, minimizing waiting time. Once you're on the mountain, spending around ten minutes at the viewpoint on the platform is sufficient.

It will cost you 1.500 yen for a two-way ticket (which you have to take as the short ride only leads to the observation platform) and is quite nice as you can see the waterfall and surrounding nature. Tough I have to say it's not the most amazing thing ever, so if you're short on money, you can skip it.

The ticket is worth for. The view is incredible with tons of energy from the natural at the top hill. You can see Chuzenji lake and Kegon Falls together in one shot. The ride is only 5-10 mins for a single leg. And of course, you need a round trip ticket to go and back. Do not miss it if you already have chance to visit Nikko.

First tip of advice to enjoy the ropeway is to arrive as early as possible to avoid waiting in the queues. Easy to reach by bus but they are extremely busy with people on their way to the lake and onsen towns. The views though are stunning and definitely worth it!

Worth taking. There’s no bus back (only forward). Ticket is JPY 1000 roundtrip (10% discount if you arrived by bus). There’s no exit from the other end, so I don’t know why one way tickets is sold. A little pricey for a 10 minutes stop; but the view from above is breathtaking.
